In the United States, agriculture accounts for a small but significant portion of the economy. The agricultural sector contributes approximately 1% to the country’s GDP, making it the 12th largest sector in the economy. The sector employs a little over 2 million people, or 1% of the workforce. While the agricultural sector is not as large or as important as it once was, it still plays an important role in the US economy.<\/p>\n

The agriculture sector in the United States has seen a slight decline in its contribution to the country’s GDP over the past few years. In 2021, it is estimated that the sector will contribute around 0.96 percent to the GDP. This is down from 1.01 percent in 2020 and 1.03 percent in 2019. The decline is attributed to a number of factors, including the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the sector.<\/p>\n
