Selective breeding, also called artificial selection, is the process of choosing particular individuals with desirable traits to produce the next generation. <\/p>\n

Selective breeding has been used for centuries to improve crops and livestock. Farmers have bred plants and animals for specific traits, such as higher yields, tastier fruits and vegetables, or resistance to diseases. <\/p>\n

More recently, science has allowed us to identify the genes that control these traits. This has helped us to be even more selective in our breeding and produce even better results. <\/p>\n
